Final Boardcast

Live Show

Speech Based Package

Evaluation

Chat 1 – Our first chat went successfully, however, while recording the show it felt lie it was awkward and stale, listening back to it went smoother than I thought. This first chat was scheduled to be a minute long, during it was 55 seconds leaving us slight ahead of schedule.

Golden Brown, The Stranglers – While recording the song sounded fine with the levels between 3 and 4. However reflecting on the song, it sounded a little bit peaky.

Chat 2 – I feel this chat started off well, with smooth conversation and facts regarding comic relief, our cause. I believe the facts were good for audience education of our cause. The change in pace and subject between the facts and introduction the song could have been slightly smoothly. In future shows, we could try and relate the conversations and with the song. This chat was 30 seconds under the scheduled 2 minutes it was meant to be.

Africa, Toto – When in the radio booth the song sounded fine, however when listening back to it the volume of the song sounds like it is varying constantly throughout the song. I don’t know why this was happening.

Chat 3 – This chat should have been much longer, with it lasting 1minute 25 seconds. 35 seconds under schedule. We could have made it longer by introducing the audience back to the show and talking about the previous song. Also, Joe was breaking badly when he started the talk and the comparison between the volume of Joe compare to phoebe was large. In future shows, I think a more thorough sound check would be required.

Speech Base Package(SBP) – The start of the SBP the levels were too high causing it to peak, I countered this soon after realizing the mistake. Apart from this mistake, the SBP was clear, the audience would have been able to hear all features of the package; the dialogue, backing music, ticking clock and 30-second bell symbolize the death of a malaria victim. The fading out of the SBP was at little bit early meaning the ending dialogue was missed.

Chat 4 – At the start of this chat there was a large delay, creating around 3 seconds of dead space.Which is followed by me talking very quietly and then a wavy effect on the volume of my voice? This was due to me bobbing towards and away from the microphone. In future, I will aim to sit still when talking into the microphone. The content in the chat was great, felt. We discussed our just giving and disclose our furnishing and the amount we donated. As well as interacting with our audience through our Facebook page. The length of this chat was much longer than it’s original scheduled time, this was planned from earlier in the show due to being ahead of schedule.

Down Under, Men at Work – The song at the start was breaking but I corrected it after relishing. The rest of the song was fine.

Chat 5 – This chat went smooth and I felt contradicted the seriousness of the last chat well. This preventing the radio showing being too serious and overbearing on our audience. Towards the end of the chat, you can clearly hear my phone timer alarm going off. I was using it to know how we would have left to chat before needing the play the song. In future, I will keep my phone on silent. This chat like the last was longer than scheduled due to still being ahead of schedule.

Plant Earth, Duran Duran – Like a lot the songs on the show, Plant Earth was peaking at the start, but I corrected it later. This could have been prevented if we had some a more in-depth sound check on all the songs during the pre-production phase.

Chat 6 – Like the last chat, this section run smoothly. Apart from my inability to spell ‘phenomenal’. Again like the last chat this chat was contradictory to chat earlier in the show, to keep the show light rather than dark.

Are Friends Electric, Gary Newman – This song was almost perfect, apart from for the wavy effect appearing to happen on a lot of the songs in the show.

Chat 7 – There was a large delay, of around 3 seconds of dead space, at the start of this chat. This happened because I was unsure whether I had faded the microphones up or not on the soundboard. This chat was good, as we interacted with our audience and reported on our just giving page. Finally, I felt we could have had more of an ending and saying bye to our audience.
Team Performance
I believe our team somewhat work well together. There were minor issues with comminution and discussion over the work to be completed and general workload between the team. There was a slightly larger percentage of work completed between Joe and myself this was down to poor communication with Phoebe on my part as the producer. I should have delighted the workload more equally between all of the team members. Apart from my that slight hiccup, I believe we all worked hard towards completing the task.
