My Influence

George Ergatoudis

George Eratoudis is the current Head of Music for BBC Radio 1 and 1 Extra. He has previously worked at Kiss 100FM and been a producer at BBC Radio 1, producing Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo. While at BBC Radio 1 Extra, during 2000 to 2005, he worked with UK artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Jay Sean, Wiley and Ms Dynamite, alongside major US artists such as 50 Cent, Pharrell and The Game.

Before joining KISS 100FM in 1991 he was hired as a trainee producer with BBC Radio 1 in 1989 and became a full time producer in 1990. While at KISS 100FM between 1991 and 1997 he worked as a senior producer and won a Sony Gold Award for producing Steve Jackson’s Breakfast Show.

Ergatoutdis is my influence because he has lead a career path and I inspire to follow. From working as a producer in multiple establishments, working with up coming artists and winning major awards for his work.

Synopsis:

Indigo Radio is an indie-based radio station that will mainly talk about indie bands, artists, up and coming tours, new songs, indie festivals etc. At the start of our show Lydia, the host, and Izzy, the co-host, will introduce themselves and talk about what the show is going to include and what the audience should expect from the segment. The show will be based around general chat about indie related topics and about half way through, Joe, another presenter, will have a two minute time slot to do the news, in order to get our listeners up to date on indie gossip. Throughout the show we will play various music from different bands and artists, we will play parts of old indie music, as well as some new music. We will end the show with a new Ghost song to reinforce our agenda, which is to entertain listeners and keep them informed of new music from popular indie bands.
